Formerly known as “The Shepherd Rescue Project”, for nearly a decade the USGSD Society has specialized in rescuing and rehabilitating German Shepherds & Malinois. With open hearts, we welcome those who have been lost, discarded. or unwanted; providing them with a second chance at a life filled with comfort, security, love, and adventure.
Our shelter is a foster-based organization, meaning our rescues are not centrally located. Our dedicated foster families assist in taking care of each dog till such time they find their forever families.

At our shelter, we’re all about finding the paws-itively perfect home for every German Shepherd and Malinois who bounds through our doors! Each of these clever, loyal pups spends at least 30 days with us so we can get to know their health, personality, quirks, and charm—tail wags and all. Here at the USGSD Society, we’re not just about quick adoptions; we don’t do first-come, first-served. Instead, we take our time to match each furry friend with the very best family for them. So, if you’re thinking about adopting one of our brilliant shepherds or Malinois, we’d love to hear from you!
